Whois Nihaopaul?

the all famous Paul aka. "Nihaopaul" moved to Shanghai China at the age of 15 (July 4th 1998) after just finishing Secondary School with his family for a period of 2yrs, Although leaving england Kicking and screaming he slowly started to adapt to Shanghai, it wasn't until attending one school (SAS) where he began to make new friends and settle in. It was only a short stay at SAS (that's a story in itself!) but during that time he made life time friends and gained 0.4 GPA with the words "he'll be nothing but a high school drop out. By Mr L"

After starting college (DHU-LaSalle formerly CTU-LaSalle) in May 6th 1999 (the same day the Chinese embassy got bombed in Belgrade) (another story in itself!) where he signed up for a 2yr course in Graphic Design to be completed in 18months. He was the youngest person in his class but toughly had a good time and met some amazing individuals and was introduced to Web Design and programming (Cold Fusion). After finishing the Course and graduating 1 semester early with a new found interest in Web Design and internet communications he continued learning independently.

In 2002 Paul was awarded a scholarship for academic performance and had the highest Grade average for that years graduating classes to continue on and earn a B.A (Hons) in Visual Communications (4 groups) (Mr. L I think you were wrong). Having only 2 choices to staying in china: find a company to employ him (later found out he was required to have a B.A or above for the work permit) or continue studying, he choose the study route.

Not knowing what to expect he started out with his good friend at that time (S.S aka M.L) in a class of 3 and making good friends along the way finally finished and gained his degree (has a longer story too).

Paul then took his shinny new degree and join S:R:Y at Reason Vision where they worked on the very first team project, a magazine and it was the first time they got burnt from not having the experiance to spot a snake (more of a story but never happened again) which they later reformed into Chaos - the Co-Operative Studio where D.C, T.M.K, Z.B.N and F came aboard. The studio was situated in an old warehouse on the famous Suzhou Creak; this massive 200sqm space lay home for 2 years. Due to a change in the building and content law for the Suzhou Creak area, Chaos was hung out, since then the studio has moved on more than one occasion, but still business as usual.

During this time he has developed Ecommerce sites, interactive sites, CRM platforms for just the web alone, picking up languages such as asp (ack) php, jsp, tcl, and has developed a never ending quest for information, if there's something he wants to know, he'll find it! Also along the way he setup a hosting business under Chaos which provides world class services and stability for a select few clients that are interested in more.

with his interests still in communication he wired his home with VOD, digital Audio and has a slew of other items up his sleeve or in the pipes, focusing on security/encryption whilst having a usable system, his favorite operating system is FreeBSD!

Toying with all types of technology from Ruby On Rails, AJAX to Clustering, his knowledge in many areas is outstanding and commonly overlooked due to his young looks.

Paul is also a PADI Professional Divemaster Open Water Scuba IDC Staff Instructor, he likes to disappear 2 months out of the year to go diving, its one of his ways that he manages to stay sane in this fast paced market place.
